Cloud Resilience & Disaster Recovery Validation for a Leading Property Services Provider in UK

About The Client

Our client is a leading provider of residential property valuations, surveys, and property risk services, based in UK. Operating through a nationwide network of RICS-qualified Chartered Surveyors, they combine local expertise with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and regulatory compliance to help clients make informed property decisions.

Business Challenge

  • Limited confidence in Disaster Recovery readiness across critical Azure workloads.
  • No structured mechanism to validate recovery processes under real failure conditions.

  • Need to proactively identify infrastructure weaknesses before production incidents.

  • Lack of automated resilience testing and observability across Azure services.

What did we do?

  • Designed and executed Chaos Engineering experiments for Azure Virtual Machines, Key Vault, and Logic Apps.
  • Implemented controlled fault injection scenarios to simulate real-world infrastructure failures.

  • Configured Azure Site Recovery (ASR) to validate Disaster Recovery readiness.

  • Established monitoring and logging using Azure-native observability services.

  • Created a repeatable framework for resilience validation and operational runbooks.

  • Initiated investigation of alternative approaches for Azure Database for PostgreSQL and Azure Databricks, which are currently outside the scope of Azure Chaos Studio.

Business Outcome

  • 3+ Azure services covered — Chaos Engineering experiments successfully executed across Virtual Machines, Key Vault, and Logic Apps.

  • 100% Disaster Recovery validation for supported Azure components, giving the client verified confidence in business continuity and recovery preparedness.

  • Proactive fault injection and resilience testing implemented to identify infrastructure weaknesses before production incidents.

  • Established a repeatable resilience testing framework for future Azure services.

  • Improved operational visibility through integrated monitoring and logging.

  • Reduced operational risk by validating recovery processes under real failure conditions.

  • Built a foundation for expanding Chaos Engineering and resilience testing across additional Azure services.
